Seniors '09

Well the details are a little hard to read! BUT...I'm looking for one guy and one girl from area schools willing to be Senior '09 Reps for me. You must be a senior this fall and be willing to do a little work for some great rewards. Contact me if you are interested. There are lots of details but it should be a fun way to earn some FREE prints and senior "stuff"!

Sneak Peek for the G family

Ok...this was Saturday morning and in studio the boys were shy to start and then having fun with the toys! We took it outside for a bit but it was chilly so we didn't get much. BUT...I absolutely LOVE these two shots. I used to babysit this momma...man, that makes me feel old! She even brought me a treat! She works for a candy company and I got an entire vase of beautiful--and delicious!--suckers!!! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek...the boys were great!!!

Foggy morning on the farm...

Yesterday after I took Em to school, I came back to get the camera and go find some birds I'd seen on the way. Well, I couldn't find them of course but shot a few others! The fog was burning off but was still hazey. One of these mornings I'm gonna get up early and go out and shoot! :)

Blogger is having problems this morning so I can't get one last picture to load. I will try to get it uploaded later today. But here are three for you to enjoy. This is my sister-in-law and her family. Mr. N only wanted to play and not take pictures...but we managed a few!

Four years old and LOVIN' IT!

This is my nephew and he was hammin' it up for me the day we took these. We are a bit late for his 4 year old pics b/c his hair wouldn't cooperate with us for a few weeks there. But here he is...can't wait to put together a Swashbuckler's Storyboard for him!

Can I just say....

THANK YOU!

I have had an OVERWHELMING response since the launch of my new business. I'm floored. Thank you all for loving what you see here...and for letting me in on a little piece of your life.

Because of this amazing response, I only have ONE date left open through June. Can you believe it? June 14 is the only date I have open now through the last weekend of June. I have a couple of bookings into July already. SO...if you want to get in on the last of my current pricing...call or email me to take that last date. We could do morning or evening.

I will be taking appointments now for July and beyond. If you are thinking about family portraits for Christmas, now may be the time to book! I will be having a Christmas in July special for those interested. September and October are GREAT months for Christmas portraits. That will give you enough time to pick our your cards and any gifts you may need.

Again, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has booked with me already. I could never have dreamed things would take off this quickly. Continue to look for new and exciting changes and announcements through the summer. I plan to have a full website up and running by mid-summer. Many of the appointments now on the books will find themselves gracing the pages of my website!

I really have been working this morning...

But I took a few minutes to play with these. Introducing....CAPTAIN CARTER!

I have a million other things to do but...

I'm procrastinating! I took this shot of Miss M yesterday when we were doing her cousin's 4 year old pictures. I haven't had time to proof any of those but wanted to look at this one and decided to throw it up here. It's been a while since I've shared my own kids! Hope you all have a glorious weekend!

Sneak Peek!

Finally! I've had a busy week and hate that it's taken til today to get these up! At any rate, I hope it's worth the wait. This is the M family and they are AWESOME! Didn't even get too worried when my studio light caught on fire. During the session. ACK! Their girls are as adorable as ever. They are cowgirls at heart so they had to break out the western wear. Love it! How cute are they?!?!

Mighty "D"

I had so much fun with D this morning. He was not shy of the camera at all! He was cracking me up...and had to see his picture after every flash. I quickly proofed these four just so I could have something fresh for all of you...and because I'm addicted to Photoshop.

Thanks for the fun time this morning D...

No Foolin'

Really...no April Fool's day joke on you or anyone else! Today is all about change for me!

I am so excited to unveil my new logo! You can see it at the top of this blog. I had it designed for me to go along with my new business plan. I wanted fresh, young, and fun. And I got it! You will see this logo on everything from this blog to the packaging on your pictures to my future website.

So why the new logo and blog? Well, rather than just float along and hope someone accidentally finds me and asks me to take their pictures...I have developed a business plan and intend to carry it out resulting in a successful business I can be proud of, grow with, and help my family reach our goals. Though I will remain part-time until all my children are in school, I dream of running a photography business rivaling some of the greats here in SW Kansas. Today is my first step toward that goal.

One major change with the launching of this business will be a new pricing structure. To date, I have not charged any sort of sitting fees and only minimally above my own costs on prints. But I will be raising my rates to industry standards for several reasons: a) so as to not undermine the industry; b) a successful business must make money if it is to survive; c) to be able to offer my clients the best (of ME, of products, of selection!).

BUT...you can lock in my current prices if you book NOW! Anyone who books through the end of April (for sessions to occur before July1) will receive my currect pricing! (That means NO SESSION FEE! 5x7=$5 8x10=$10)

Wow! That's a lot of info for one post! But I wanted to update you on all that is going on here at Brooke Jantz Photography. Check back often...I plan to use the blog for fun things like contests and drawings as well as the Sneak Peeks you've seen on the old blog. Welcome!!
