Stachia + Phillip = Engaged! {Kansas Engagement Photographer}

Well...the changes are coming! Just slower than I thought! A couple of more days and hopefully I'll be ready to unveil it all!!!

For now...I had so much fun working with Stachia and Phillip on Saturday. I'll be covering their wedding this we took some time to get some amazing engagement shots! I've known Stachia as far back as I can remember. We all used to walk to school together and her brother was in my class. Once, her brother and I were having a rock-throwing contest and I guess I won when my rock landed on Stachia's forehead and sliced it open! That's the only time I remember having to go to the principal's office! I'm still feeling bad about that one!!!

At any rate...I can't wait for the wedding. Enjoy your sneak peek!!

Tuesday, April 14, 2009! Changes are coming!

Woohoo! Be on the lookout for some changes around here!!! I'm not sure on the timeline but the blog and website are going to be updated SOON! I can't wait!!! I went with this blog a year ago hoping to be able to upgrade if my business plan worked out. Things are moving steadily along, and I've found the upgrades I wanted! SO...the blog will be more gorgeous than ever...soon!

For now...enjoy this shot of a barn taken somewhere in central Kansas. Travis could probably tell you where we were. I have no idea!

Flowers in Bloom!

I snapped these while we were at the Arboretum last weekend. I can't believe I have neglected my blog all week! I have been busy...just not with sessions. The editing, putting up galleries, sending off orders, packaging orders, contacting clients, scheduling for the coming months all take time too. Sometimes, I just have to step away from the computer and get things done. Plus, last week was crazy for us...Travis had a scope on his esophagus (everything is fine!), we had company one night, the kids' activities, and Easter break made for not much time for my work. I'm not complaining though...just trying to excuse myself from not blogging all of last week. I hope you had a blessed Easter!

The S Family! {Kansas Family Photographer...Brooke Jantz}

I met up with the S family at the Arboretum in Overland Park Sunday morning...before the snow hit! We started out at 8:30 with a cool 45 degrees and a bit of a breeze. By the time we left it was raining, 10 degrees cooler, and snow on the way! But we had some fun anyway. The girls were adorable, loving sisters and mom, dad, and I caught up on old friends. I was in KC for a workshop so we worked out this session for the same trip. I'd love to hit up the Arboretum this summer when it is in full bloom! It's gorgeous already...but can only imagine how beautiful it is at it's peak.

Thanks for being such troopers through the weather, guys! Enjoy your sneak peek and I'll have your gallery ready soon!!

Easter Mini Session...Mr. N

We pulled out the baby chicks again yesterday for Mr. N's session. He thought they were pretty cute! And, just to set the record straight...they are NOT real! I have had so many people comment they thought they were real!!! They are very cute and life-like...but I don't need any chickens on the farm. My two dogs probably wouldn't let them enjoy the farm very long at all! At any rate, I am offering my Easter mini's through next week if you haven't made an appointment and can't resist these chicks! Have a great weekend!

Water Drops...Just for Fun!

Well...these are a bit amateurish! But...I don't have a true macro lens so I had to fake it a bit. But a macro is suddenly on my long list of "stuff" I need! These are just for fun and to brighten up the blog a bit today. Hope you have had a great start to your week!!

Easter Session Sneak Peek...The one and only Miss C!

Little Miss C came to see me this afternoon...and swears she's coming back to play with Maddie's toys and keep the kids entertained so I can clean my house! She was ready for the camera and had some great Hannah Montana poses for me. We had a fun, short session as part of my Easter Mini Special going on NOW through the week of Easter!!

First 2010 Senior Rep {Kansas Senior Photographer}

Miss S and I had a blast along with her brother yesterday getting started on her gig as my Senior Rep for South Gray High School. She's a natural in front of the camera...or at least has been in front of it enough to know how she's going to look. I always have the most fun working with her because she has at least as many ideas as I do, and we can both tell each other when something is kind of cheesy! I'd like to find a few more senior reps before the end of the school year...if you would like to work with Brooke Jantz Photography, get a free session, earn prints and other freebies, call today to apply to be a rep!!! It's so much fun...and you get this:

"O" Family Sneak Peek!

I had the pleasure of photographing an old friend and her beautiful kids on Saturday. Growing up, we were neighbors, and we've run into each other a few times over the last 10 years. Her kiddos are adorable and totally comfortable in front of the camera! Little Miss P turned 4 on Sunday...Happy Birthday and enjoy your sneak peek!

A few more for the B family

I couldn't resist sharing a few more of these cuties on the blog. Little Miss B and Mr. C were my helpers from the moment I walked in. When I was just about to pack up to leave, Miss B surprised me with a hug. She would have let me stay the whole day, I think. She loved my pettiskirts and umbrellas and all the other fun stuff in my basket. And she kept asking for more was pretty cute! Hope you are having a great gallery is almost ready! I just need an hour to myself to get it done! :)

"C" Family Sneak Peek {Kansas Family Photographer}

This session was so different for two year-olds to chase around, everyone did exactly what I said, and we were finished in like 20 minutes! And most of that time was just trying to get their beautiful dogs to look my way. I knew I would love this family as soon as I walked through their door and two gorgeous Golden Retrievers greeted me. And Mrs. C knows how to decorate...loved their home! Thanks for having me over...I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! Can't wait to see your family picture hanging on your walls!

Sweet "B" Family {Kansas Family Photographer}

I met up with the B family for a beautiful Saturday afternoon shoot. I had so much fun with them...and the kids were so excited to have me come to their house! The baby was all smiles, too! I don't think it could have gone any better. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!

Easter set

This is the set-up for the Easter mini sessions...these are quick edits of my kids from this morning. I will hopefully have time to do a better job and get some more up...I just wanted you to be able to see the set! Those chicks are sooo cute...Maddie wants to keep them to herself! She handed them to me when we finished and said they needed a nap! :)

A fun exercise! 10 in 10

Yesterday I took an assignment proposed on a photography forum to take 10 pictures in 10 minutes. Doesn't seem hard but it is definitely a challenge to get 10 different images in a short amount of time. It forced me to look at my surroundings a bit differently, just looking for a more creative shot. I actually went out back, behind the farm, where there is a TON of junk! It's actually in the process of getting hauled away so it was a great opportunity to find some hidden treasures before it is all gone. Junk is, after all, a photographer's dream! I don't think any of my images would win any competitions; I'm under no illusions about that! But it was a great exercise and a couple of the images I really like! Hope you enjoy seeing our farm...Happy Friday!!

I took the next two just seconds apart...but took a step to the right to get rid of the sunflare. I LOVE sunflare and actually like the first image...but really like the second image as well...

An abandoned swing set...

And one in color...last shot of the 10 minutes!

(p.s. I know there are 11 images but I wanted to show the difference in the two barbed wire shots...:))
